The largest Simplified Chinese Pokémon set printed to date, at 287 cards, and the most Team Rocket-heavy release the Chinese market has had. If you follow the Trainer's Pokémon cards, this is the set they live in.

What’s in a pack

Five cards. The set is printed in two formats — slim packs of 5 and jumbo packs of 20 — and the packs we sell are the slim ones. The rarity ladder runs AR, SR, SAR and UR. Note that no box type guarantees an SR, which is a change from earlier Simplified Chinese releases and the thing most likely to surprise a returning buyer.

The chase

Team Rocket's Mewtwo is the card the set is built around, with N's Reshiram and Lillie's Clefairy close behind. The Team Rocket theme runs through the whole release, down to a briefcase-style gift box carrying a Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex promo.

Worth knowing

One card in this set exists in Simplified Chinese and nowhere else in the world: Brock's Scouting, illustrated by Atsushi Furusawa. That is the kind of thing that makes a Chinese printing worth opening rather than buying the English equivalent.
